Description

Gir National Park is one of the most ultimate renowned park and wild life sanctuary of India, situated at Gujarat. Gir National Park covers a distance which is more than 1400 square kilometers. Gir National Park is also recognized as Sasan-Gir. It is an expanded continent of Asiatic Lions and most safeguarded field of Lions. Indian Forest Department has successfully protected Eco-system and living creatures of Gir National Park. Many International organizations and dignitaries have come up with altruistic initiative to stretch out the lions breeding system. In reality, many informative organized activists and groups have participated and taken part for protection of species living here. In 2001, 327 Lions were counted and increased up to 359 Lions in April 2005. The number of Asiatic Lion of Girs goes upto 523 in 2015. Gir National Park has performed powerful role in flourishing the Lions breeding.

Flora:

Gir National Park have the main vegetation which comprises of dry and deciduous forest and also the scrubs of Aracia. The teek trees dominates the Gir area and nearly half of the forest is covered with teek trees. Therefore, the main trees which you can find here in Gir forest are banyan, bamboo teek, acacia, Syzygium cumini, Ziziphus mauritiana. Also, the forest offers fuel wood worth more than 500 crores annually. The broad leaves of these trees gives lot of shade and also help in increasing the moisture content. The survey explains that around 400 species of plants are recorded in this forest. This survey also includes the research done by Department of Botany of University of Baroda.

Fauna:

The fauna at Gir is abundant and you can easily find around 300 species of lion found in this area. Panthera lions, Asiatic lions are slightly smaller in size as compared to the African lions. The government has started many programmes for the breeding of these lions. The National Park also dwells more than 300 species of birds and the important carnivores present in this forest are bears, leopards, cobras, jackals, mongooses and desert cats. The major attractions for tourists are variety of mammals, birsa and many carnivores and herbivores animals which includes large variety of lions and big cats.

Reaching Sasan-Gir: Although there are no direct trains or air from major cities, there are many other ways to reach there. Here we go:

By Flight: For Sasan Gir you can a get flight to Diu Airport or Rajkot Airport. Diu Airport is 110 kms,  and Rajkot airport is 160 kms away from Sasan-Gir.

By Train: There are no direct trains from other major cities to Sasan Gir. Nearest Railway Station is Junagadh (79 km). Ahmedabad is connected with all the major cities. Then one can book another destination from Ahmedabad to Junagarh or to Rajkot from where we can transfer you to the hotels through either a sharing cab (chargeable) or through A/C Luxury Volvo Bus (chargeable). Ahmedabad to Junagadh or Ahmedabad to Rajkot is single track hence take 5-8 hours from depending on the train schedule.

By Bus: This option also suits if you prefer to take buses ply by major bus operators all over Gujarat. You can book the buses online upto either Somnath or Junagarh. The best option is to take buses Volvo coaches from Rajkot or Junagarh to Sasan Gir. From this point we can transfer you to the hotels.

Day 1: Arrival and overnight stay in Sasan-Gir by evening.

Tour sightseers will gather and depart for Gir National Park. We will reach Sasan by evening. After reciprocal introduction, they will check-in into their room and gather for orientation to know the aura of Gir National Park and photography. A delightful Gujarati dinner will come for retirement of the day and spend the night with dreams of what lies ahead.

Days 2: Morning and Afternoon Safari and Overnight stay in Sasan-Gir National Park.

Before sunup, drivers will take us to the park when we’re ready. Early in the aurora, we will step into the land of the Lions' devote and dedicate large amount of the first day exploring the major lions' challenging spots and attempt to make touching images in premature morning light. Guides will help you to understand tourism area. We get plenty of opportunities to whet and refine our photography at dawn to dusk. After the morning safari session, we return to our resort, breakfast and rest for some time. After lunch, we depart for the evening safari and pursue photo opportunities. After an inventive day of photography, exiting the park after sunset, we will dine and retire for the night.

Day 3: Morning Safari and Check-out.

On Day 3, we finally take an adieu of Lions at Gir National Park, with a small safari session in the morning. This time is again a good time for you to capture some marvelous movers of wild animals. With all fun and frolic we take customary group photograph and check out after breakfast and disperse with many images to show and many a story to tell to our loved one.

If you wish to take another safari in the evening that can also be arranged with all of the participants choice. There are some add-on trips also in Gujarat such as Nalsarovar, Little Rann of Kutch, Jamnagar etc. Talk with us before you can plan at an additional cost.

      Documents Required

      • Each of the participants have to submit one copy of self attested id proof such as Voter Id, Pan Card, Aadhar details including a photographs. These will be required to book hotel/resorts, and to get entry permit from forest depart.

      Inclusions

      This expeditions trips packages covers the following:

      • Twin-sharing accommodation in comfortable, air-conditioned / air-cooled / non-air-conditioned rooms or tents depending on the destinations trips.

      Exclusions

      • Any type of fare and transfer expenses between your home and the destinations.
      • Any kind of personal expenses or optional tours, extra meals, drinks and beverages ordered.
      • Insurance, laundry and phone calls
      • Bottled water, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages
      • Video Camera: Some destination needs special permission to shoot videos. Avoid taking it unless you’ve permission from concerned deptt. or pay the requisite fees.
      • Anything that is not included in the inclusions list

      Booking Terms

      • 25% to book the trips before 60 days of the trips.
      • Balance 75% need to pay before 30 days of the trip, failing to pay the balance within stipulated time booking will get automatically cancelled and no refund will be executed at any cost. The deposited amount will be adjusted against safari booking, hotel/resorts booking charges and other misc expenses for the expedition trips.

      Cancellation Fees

      • 25% on or before 15 days of the trips if the fees paid fully in advance.
      • 50% on or before 30 days of the trips if paid fully at the time of booking.
      • 100% before 60 days of the trip.

      Cancellation Procedures:

After verification the refund will be initiated within 7 business days through NEFT transfer or will send you the cheque through a registered post. In case of NEFT transfer the credit would reflect in your account within as per the banks rules.

      The wildlife at Gir National Park is plentiful and there is a lot of animals which are enhancing the richness of National Park. Apart from Asiatic Lions the rich wildlife sanctuary includes Indian hare, porcupine, spotted cats, jungle cats, striped hyena, jackal, wild boar, antelope, blue bull, spotted deer and leopard. You can also capture the flocking birds which include 250 species which comprises of red-headed falcon, laggar falcon, spotted owlet, hawk, eagle, griffon vulture, yellow footed green pigeon.
